Sea, Sun and A Flat Tum - Article Plan

Planning Comments
article genre
(purpose, type)
The purpose of my article is too promote a healthy lifestyle by giving easy following advice on diets and exercise. This will appeal to the majority of my target audience as females are always conscious as to how they look and how to feel good and therefore this will be an article of high interest to them.
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person)
I will write my article in 2nd person as I feel as though this will be the most appropriate for my genre of magazine. This narrative voice will involve the reader within the article and therefore they will be more entertained. This is good for my target audience as they have a short attention span.
Register
(informal/formal, colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
The register will be fairly informal as a formal tone wont appeal to my target audience. I will try to use mild taboo words as this is fairly youthful and will make the tone of my article much lighter and therefore the reader is more likely to read it.
Stylistics
(repetition, strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing, rhythm)
I will repeat strong words like ‘important’ as this will emphasise that the pointers I give are essential to getting the body image that women desire. I will use short to medium sentencing as this will give a medium read speed and therefore a lengthily article wont appear too daunting.
Tone of address
(hectoring, sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
I will use a chatty, ‘matey’ tone of address due to the age group of my target audience. This again would involve the reader in the article making them feel more included.
Structure and pace
(discourse structure, logical paragraphing, conclusion)
The text of the article will be in the bottom half of the text and the imagery will be in the top half. Each paragraph will be in a different area due to the fact they will have a different context as they all have different points to make.
